3 Things for Hosting a Successful Girls Night
Updated: Jul 23, 2020
When my girls and I get together, it is nothing short of a feast, dancing, and a whole lot of laughter. There are a few must haves to every Girls Night In, and I am so excited to share them with you! These 3 things are not only essential, but will make the planning process and setup easier so that you can enjoy time with the girls to the fullest!
1. Cocktails. or Mocktails.
I love starting the night off with a signature cocktail (or mocktail) for your friends to enjoy when they come in! There are so many wonderful options out there on Pinterest and other blogs! It creates a welcoming and hospitable environment the second your guests walk in and makes them feel at ease. I chose to do a Grapefruit & Rosemary Sparkler along with a Blackberry & Lime Mule (both nonalcoholic and delicious). The spritzer was a little time consuming due to having to juice the grapefruits by hand, so I would definitely buy grapefruit juice in the bottle to save yourself some time! Here are the recipes:
With a start time of 7pm or later, you save yourself the time and money of a full meal. I opted for the always lovely charcuterie board. Being in a time crunch, the gals got to help me put this one together which ended up being so much fun! Along with some type of savory appetizer, you must have something sweet to snack on! I sat out some cookies along with a homemade cake for this particular girls night since it was all to celebrate my best friend's birthday! You could always put together a donut or ice cream bar which is fairly simple, or pick up an array of mini desserts from Publix!
The best part. With the busyness of work, family, and life in general, it is not often that we are able to get together with our best gals and just enjoy each others company. Make time in your girls night to simply chat and catch up on what is going on in each others lives. I always want my girls to know that I am here for them. I want to be a good listener first, and encourager second. If you feel you need a little extra help with this, you can find different conversation starters online or even come up with your own!
Along the lines of conversation are activities and games. Anything to get the fun going! We like to play anything from card and board games to larger group games. I can promise you by the end of the night at my house, the couches and coffee table have been moved out of the way for a late 90's early 2000's dance party!
The goal of every girls night is to connect with your besties and to have fun! I hope your next girls gathering is just that and you are able to use these 3 things to help tie it all together! Now, go give your girlfriends a call and make plans for Saturday night!
